This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking statement is a response to Section 54 [1], Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and relates to the actions and business activities of Barrow Mount Ltd for the financial year ending 30th September 2025.
Introduction
Barrow Mount is fully committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms. We have a zero-tolerance approach to slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking within our business and supply chains.
Company overview
Barrow Mount Ltd is a recruitment business based in London. We focus on permanent recruitment solutions and may also work with fixed term and temporary workers. We engage a number of suppliers and service providers, including IT, marketing, legal and operational partners. All are expected to comply with our standards and relevant UK legislation.
Policies
We have a series of internal policies and practices that reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships:
- Recruitment and selection policy
- We maintain a clear process that records how a candidate has applied, their consent, and their right to work.
- All workers must be UK residents with verified identity and eligibility.
- Our terms of service make this clear to every candidate.
- Staff are expected to report any concerns in confidence and without fear of reprisal.
- Supplier code of conduct
- All suppliers, contractors and partners are issued our code of conduct at the start of any engagement.
- We expect full compliance and reserve the right to terminate agreements where breaches occur.
- Due diligence
- We carry out regular checks on suppliers to assess compliance with our code of conduct.
- Any instance of non-compliance leads to immediate review and potential termination of the relationship.
- Risks are identified, tracked and addressed through structured supplier review processes.
- Risk and compliance
- We assess our business and supply chain risk as low, but remain vigilant.
- There have been no known instances of modern slavery associated with Barrow Mount to date.
- Controls in place are reviewed to ensure they remain proportionate and effective.
- Ongoing monitoring and review
- We request annual confirmation of compliance from suppliers and partners.
- Staff training includes modules on identifying and reporting modern slavery.
- Temporary worker details are reviewed to ensure that bank accounts and home addresses are not duplicated across individuals.
